The Somali American Police Association (SAPA) was established in 2012 by five Minnesota based police officers who came together with the vision to help young Somali-Americans who are pursuing careers in Law Enforcement, new officers and veterans that are facing challenges in their respective departments, and bridge the gap between the Somali-American Community and law enforcement agencies across the country. SAPA also is involved in providing training and mentorships to Somali Police Force (Mogadishu) through programs sponsored by the United States’ Department of State.
Our members include sworn and non-sworn personnel who serve in the law enforcement community as well as those who support our objectives and goals.
SAPA is a young but rapidly growing association. Currently it has twenty-five strong members who hail from various departments and states.
